Housing & Transportation

There are many advantages of living on campus.  Students who live in a residence hall are more likely to…

  • Earn higher grade point averages
  • Stay in college and not drop out
  • Develop better study habits
  • Participate more in student and recreational activities
  • Have more contact with other students

Campus life offers you an opportunity to participate in organized hall activities, exciting on-campus events, vibrant organizations, competitive athletic programs, arts and culture, and much more.

Campus Live-in Policy

 a.  All single freshmen under the age of 21, with a home address of more than 50 miles from campus, must live in University Housing.  Single freshmen, under the age of 21, whose parents' principal residence is located within 50 miles of campus may elect to reside in University Housing but otherwise must reside with their parents.  Proof of such residence will be required.

b.  Freshmen students will be defined as having fewer than 30 credit hours.  Credits taken concurrent with high school and/or credits attained through Advanced Placement (AP) Examination, CLEP, etc. do not apply towards living experience.

c.  All residential students are required to have a meal plan.

d.  Students failing to meet these requirements will be assessed the lowest price residence hall (double room rate) and board charges.

e.  Any exceptions to this requirement must be approved by the University Housing Office.

New Campus Housing

We’re committed to providing a positive learning environment to all of our students. As a result, over the next few years the University will be building new residence halls as well as renovating the existing Belmont Hall. Crestone Hall opened in fall 2009, with Greenhorn and Calebra Halls to open in fall 2010.  Stay tuned for formal announcements!

Crestone Hall

Crestone Hall houses 253 students in two wings. The rooms in Crestone Hall are suite style, offering share bathrooms in each suite. The standard room in Crestone Hall is the Double Room (suite) with a shared bath room; these rooms are double occupancy and will share a bathroom with another double room. Each Double Room contains two extra long twin beds, two desks, two dressers, and two desk chairs. Lounges are located at the end of each floor and offer stunning views of the surrounding area. Students are responsible for cleaning their rooms and bathrooms. Custodial Services are provided for the common areas in Crestone Hall.

The main lobby of Crestone Hall offers a gathering area and a flat-screen television. Connected to the main lobby is a computer lab, a warming kitchen, laundry facilities, and a classroom. A front desk is operated 24-hours by a student staff.

In fall 2009, CSU-Pueblo opened a 76,400 square-foot residence hall, which is home to 253 students.  Our beautiful new building features a computer lab, classroom and meeting space, as well as significant amounts of open social areas.  It is an ideal place for you to thrive on campus!  Capacity is limited, so apply early.

Future Housing

In fall 2010, CSU-Pueblo will open two more brand new residence halls, Greenhorn and Calebra, adding 500 more beds for our students.

 Culebra and Greenhorn Halls

The nearly 80,000 square-feet Culebra Hall will have four floors of student rooms, totaling 235 beds, a commons/lounge area with adjacent small group study rooms, laundry, mailroom and a late-night food venue offering coffee, drinks, soups, snacks, sandwiches, and pizza.

At more than 85,000 square feet, Greenhorn Hall also will have four floors of student rooms, totaling 263 beds, with commons/lounge area and adjacent  small group study rooms, laundry, mailroom,  program storage rooms, warming kitchen, fully-equipped technology classroom seating 25; and an eight-station computer “cyber lounge” available to residents.

Both buildings will have glassed-in lounges at the ends of each wing on each floor and card access security entrances to provide a safe living and learning environment.

Belmont Residence Hall

Belmont Hall houses over 500 students in three wings, which are joined by a large commons area. The commons area serves as a gathering place and has a large-screen television and a kitchen. The housing office and student mailroom are located adjacent to the area. The lower level of the commons area consists of a recreation area (including a court for volleyball and basketball), a weightlifting gym, study lounge, and laundry facilities. Belmont Hall also has a computer lab, tutoring lab, pool table, ping-pong table, vending machines, an ice machine, and many other amenities. The front desk is staffed 24-hours by student staff to answer questions and check out equipment.

All rooms are designed for two people, single occupancy is available on a very limited basis. Students can be placed on a single room waiting list based on the date in which the Housing Office receives a complete application. Rooms are approximately 12 feet by 13 feet in size. Each room contains two extra long twin beds, with drawer space below, two desks with built in study lamps,  two bookshelves, and two desk chairs.

You will share a bathroom with the other residents on your floor. There are two bathrooms per floor one for men and one for women. Custodial Services are provided for the bathrooms, hallways, lounges, and recreation areas.
